The Dreams didn't come, but images of my dad floated through my head like a digital slide. Only with 10 pics going at once, like in movies. I couldn't stand it. I ripped the sheets off. Cold sweat, tears stained and titened my face.
"Mmmmmm." I held my breath. A shadow flashed across the dimmed wall. "Mmmooooeeeww." Mrs. snow quietly poked out of the closet with Ginger trailing be hide. I sighed with releif, my heart sighed in disappointment.
" What are you doing here this late Snow? takeing Ginger to bed huh." Snow's red eye's glidered a yes. She left soon with her baby after I stopped staring at her. I couldn't get to sleep without thinking of him. It was hopless.

" He's going to Iraq." Mom face was shocked in a mask of terror. Then she ran. Kay Lynn's eyes filled with tears. Alison bowed her head.

"I am sorry." The soldier whispered. He tipped his helmet and left us. We went to bed sadly. My friends stayed the night to comfort my family. Soon everyone was calmly, asleep, but me. I didn't feel sleep or want it. All I really wanted was dad's smiling face and his big bear hugs. I clinged to the thought. I knew reality would soon take it away. I closed my eyes, waiting for the dream.

3, LOOK!

The whole family (every one but Lilac and dad,) Crowed around the table. Kay Lynn,(Kay lynn is in 1oth grade) Cami, Ricky, and my friends, (since birth,) Nick, and Jennine. They don't have lunch with me. A solider glumly shook in the corner. I was going to ask about him, but the murmurs of excitement took my attention. I rushed to the table and ripped the envelope open.
"Why does she get to do it??" Whined Cami
"SHH." mom said. "Read it out loud Ricky." He proudly grinned, then snatched the letter out of my hands.
" Dear Family,
All went well in South Africa. Right now I have all ready crossed the border line of Egypt. It was magnificent! The only problem was it was amazingly hot. I think Kay Lynn would like it. It's fill with history and ancient story. The part is it's like glass. It's very beautiful. Right now we are driving through Israel. It amazing too I think Ricky would like it. It's beautiful place for photography. I have to be on my way. I am going to......" Ricky gasped. "He's....he's.." Ricky stammered
"He's what!?!?" mom yelled frantically.

chapter 4, The letter

I was still shaking when I walked home. I shivered and shock with excitement and cold. A cold wet drop fell on my freckled nose. Then two more fell on my arm. Soon it was pouring. I ran for shelter. I could not find any, I just walked in the cold rain. An umbrella shielded me, suddenly. I turned and found Olivia's smiling pink face and Megan small tan one.
"I thought you might need us." Megan said grinning like she had done something mischievous.
"You guess right." My voice was boring and life less. We walked until my mother came and picked me up for important reasons.
"What now ma?"
"We received a letter from your father!" I gasped unconsciously. Mom babbled about the letter and her whole boring day.
"Where's the letter?" I irrerupted.
"Oh you will see." the car wasn't parked when I jumped out and sprinted inside. Mom trailed after me.

The new part to chap. 1

Hello dorks." Paipaye suddenly there spitting at us.
"hello annyoning robot-ateron." Livvy replied
"Ooo. Nice comback. But you could lose the ateron." Emilee complemented.
"Excellent Olivia. What would be more excellent is if you would jump in to a hazarous vat of liqud." Olivia's eyebrows crunched up and spread out her arms.
"Well, you can go cry me an ocean of obnoxious dark water. Cause I ain't going no where." Olivia snapped her fingers.
"At least I don't make blunders. I am a prototype of dazzling superiority." Paipaye gleamed, touching her face.
I was not goung to let this turn into a word fight and enither was Megan.
"Wait! I don't know what you just said." She cried. Pushing her arms in between them.
"It means-" Paipaye started
"But I am going to look in my thethsaurusth." Megan took a pocket sized thesaurus from her pocket and started read "Umm. Blunders... nope. That one sounds like a grandma word. Dazzling superiority. Umm .No. Those are not really words Paipaye." She looked at paipaye With sad eyes "I am deeply sorry."
"THEY ARE IN THE DICTIONARY NOT IN THE THESAURUS!!" Paipaye neerly screamed the words. Then she stromed off. Megan turned to us with a misgvous smile and Olivia was grinng away.
"And thats how I beat Paipaye, with my Thethsaurusth." Her head bobed and her eyebrows bounce proundly.
The bell rang shaddering the triumphant moment. I picked up my books and headed to English.

Sweet

"Nope." He smiled even wider. He wrapped an arm around me, carrying half my weight.

"so, where are ya going?"

"Office."I limped down the hall still hoping not to puke. He stopped half way there. I pushed on his arm. My arms felt light and useless, and his arm didn't move.

"I need to talk to you, alone. Meet by the oak at 6." He whispered. Looking at me meaningfully he added."Are you gonna be O.K?"

"Fine."

"Austin Green! What have I told you? Blah blah....." He pulled a face and was gone. I watched the place he had been, waiting for him again. I knew I needed some help. My legs buckle and caved in. So I sat in the hall the rest of the period waiting for help.

I pushed myself up and fell backwards into his arms.

"Uh.....hi Austin." I said stupidly I looked up into dark blue eyes. He smiled his wide smile that I loved

"Hi Mckenna. Are you that 9th grader I was yelling at?"

I bit my lip and tried not to look down. I shuffled down the great halls that seem giant now. I shook and wobble down the hall.
"Hey Mckenna! Wait up!"
No no no no no no no no! Not now. I prayed he wasn't talking to me. Maybe he was yelling at another Mckenna.
"Mckenna Edwards!" He yelled. Nope it was me. I tried to walk faster but I ended up on the hard tile.
